    Progressive just told me I needed 4800 down and $1800/mo for Hot shot startup .......yeah Ouch!

    Yea right, go to a agency that specializes in truck insurance. Who could afford that?

    Progressive is one of the only companies that will write policies on new hot shot start ups. They can charge whatever they want and a lot of newbies are willing to pay it.

    Yep progressive is 1200 a month. And that's with no truck or trailer coverage. I own both.

    1 mil liability, 100k cargo, 50k uninsured motorist, 5k personal injury. New hotshot venture.

    Not telling you what to do but I would put some coverage on my truck and trailer..

    I bought it for 9k. Id rather not be camcelled or have my rates skyrocket when/if they have to replace. I have a replacement fund for truck in place.

    If it was an expensive truck, id agree with you.
