Did you take 45 into DLS or 287 to FTW and up to 35W and on. That can normally be a lot faster in rush hour. 35W clogs up on N side of FTW but then clears out quick. 35E through DLS is 50 miles of Hell.

Keep a positive attitude Path' ... I don't think you have to worry about the safety meeting.

NOW YOU TELL ME!LOL No, I just ran right up 45 into 35E. Thought I was going to be ok, then the North side. Just like you said, SLLLOOOOOOWWWW! And those 50yard entrance ramps with 50 cars at a time really screw with the "flow". It actually wasnt that bad. Just made for a long nite. Got into KS and called it a nite. Did a little "editing" and started early. Ran out of hours in ND. Started early again and got to the dest. in the am. Now this was crazy. Delivering to a new coal-fired electric plant. So follow the signs to the staging area, wait for someone to come check you in. Nothing I havent gone thru before. Guy comes and signs all my paperwork, wait again till they are ready for you. Finally got escoted in, past the guard shack and gate etc.. Go all the way to the back of the property to unload in a field.(no, really, a field!) To leave, this is the stupid part. I ask if I need to wait for the escort again. "Oh no, just follow that road out". Huh? Yep, the back of the property was WIDE open! No semblance of security. So why have guards out front? Strange. Ran hard from Jamestown to Manitowoc for some crane parts heading to southern IL. I'm about an hour away from delivering in the am. Its in the middle of nowhere and there is no place to park(so they say). As soon as I get unloaded Im heading up to Gary. I will be OUT of hours when I get there. And I mean OUT! Should be ok if the safety department allows me to log at 65 instead of the 55mph speed limit! Ill need to get a PM done, since they didnt do it when they had the truck last time! And it'll get me a reset. Ill check back after the "meeting"!

Good luck buddy! I'm sure they will give you a boring lecture and on down the road after your reset.

Ok, you were basically right. Just a general talking to. They did feed us lunch, and it was a pretty good catered meal.I did find out that we were all there because our "incident" was declared preventable. I was given the option to have the incident go before the "accident review board". This is made up of 5 people, one van and one flat driver, each with over a million miles, two otherpeople from operations I think. And a Liutenant in the MN hwy. patrol, commercial vehicle division. I decided to go for it, I just want to exhaust all my options before accepting a "preventable" on my record. I also made a suggestion to the head safety guy that they(ATS) have a 1/2 day or at least a couple hour "class" on O/D loads for those who havent hauled any before. I think this would help with safety and the co. would look better every time a driver walked into a scalehouse. He liked the idea and was going to look into it, at least thats what he said. I'm just gonna hang out here for the rest of the weekend. Ill check back in later.

Well I got a load, finally, late Mon. afternoon. But there were no stepdecks in the yard. So I had to wait for one to show up. With a little smooth talking I got the shop to give me one that was waiting for a PM. Left early Tues. and went north of Chicago, to Gurnee. Loaded a big metal chloride dryer. Dont ask me, its a huge tank thing that weighs 40000lbs and was a ###### to tarp! Made good time, till I hit Billings. Got another level 1 inspection. Turns out the trailers lights shorted out in the rain! So thus, the inspection! I passed again with nothing wrong, but since it was dark out, I got put out of service till the trailer was fixed. It actually didnt take all that long and the guy was pretty cool. Especially when he found out my wife was from not far away. Guess I suddenly wasnt so much of an "outsider"!LOL. I wont be able to deliver till Friday am now tho. Wont be a problem unless they dont find me a load for the weekend. Im sure Moses Lake, WA is beautiful, but I really dont need another reset yet!

Glad to hear you got that over with. At least you got that whole safety thing behind you now.

I'm under a load right now that you seem to get a lot of. Your trucks are all over the lot. You know, the ones that are plastic wrapped.

Trane in Lacrosse? Those are always nice, no tarping! Man I wish that all companies would do that "shrink wrap" stuff. I guess it took Trane a long time to get it just right, thickness of plastic, hold points etc.. But they do it right now! Well I got to the delivery on time despite the little DOT "delay". It turned out to be pointless tho! Got there at 8am, just like I was told. Finally got unloaded at 315! Only good thing is I got some signatures so i'll get paid for sitting. Not bad, but I still wasnt able to get tot the next load before they closed, for the weekend. So here I sit all weekend in Chewelah, WA. I'll get layover pay but would MUCH rather have been trucking to Dallas. Would have made a good week, now only ok. And I wont be able to scan in the current paperwork, so no check next week. OUCH! Always happens that way doesnt it? Just start getting caught up and wham! Another set back. I wont complain if the miles stay consistent through the winter. Oh ya, I think i'm gonna pull my request to go to the accident review board. I still think it was the other guys fault but nothing really is going to change. Im probably not leaving(unless something perfect comes along) and its over and no one is hurt. Just gonna start the million miles over and learn to be even MORE careful!

Oh no, that is not the company, and it is not from there, sorry I must be mistaken.

I am sorry to hear about layover. They want their stuff on time no matter what. But you have sit for them. :biggrin_25510:
