I have the tripac and as soon as it starts in the air conditioner setting the compressor kicks in without letting the engine warm up there a setting on the thomerter pushing the temperature adjust up and down at the same time puts you in different modes is there a youtube video that showes how to delay the air conditioner compressor from starting or does anyone know what buttons to push

Hmmm. My Tripac lets you manually select mode and temperature independently. You are sure there is no mode switch? What if u just want to run vent w/o heat or AC?

Why do you want the tri pac to warm up before the compressor kicks in. They all are this way.

I know what you are talking about. Recently I had mine in the shop to get fixed and the tech said it was not good for the ac to kick on immediately when the unit first starts up because it puts a heavy load on it. I told him it had done this since I bought it used 2 1/2 years ago. He programmed it to delay the start up of the ac for 45 seconds after the unit was first started.

He told me this way it gives it time to warm up before putting the heavy draw on it to start the ac.

He did this through the module where you set the temp on the unit in the sleeper, wished I had watched him do this.

press up arrow and down at the same time until ppp appears on screen(can be tricky to get it) if you dont get it first time power off and back on to try again. press mode button until you get cdt( clutch delay timer) on screen. press up arrow until you get to somewhere between 30 to 60, I usually set to 60 (seconds) press mode until you get back to ppp, press fan button to save changes.

Your tripac will sometimes reset to default any programs made if you are pressing buttons while it is going thru the control module startup screen where it shows hours, etc(its a glitch)...Google ,tripac diagnostics manual and you can find the manual in PDF form that shows what Benhiers explained above.. The default for AC compressor is 8 seconds and i agree it should be longer, mines set to 30 seconds. Follow the procedure exactly or your program choices wont be saved. If you take too long making decisions the control module will exit the program mode on its own.

I have a 2016 kenworth t 680 with a thermo king tri Pac. I had to take it to thermo king about 2 weeks ago because it was not charging the batteries. Since I was on my home time, my wife followed me there & we left the truck there for 24 hours. Next day I get a call, they say it's now working the way it should. I went back out on the road the next day. Now every time I try to turn it on, I'll have out set for AC. The engine will kick on, the vents start blowing air, but the little snow flake icon just flashes on & off. I generally have to change the controls to either heat or fan & then back to ac to get the snow flake on solid. Before I had the repairs done it would always turn the ac on immediately. Now I have to fight with it. Are there any options at all for me to get this fixed without wasting a half a day in the thermo king drivers lounge?

Sorry, but you'll have to learn how to fix it yourself, if not waiting is your requirement. You'll be miles ahead being able to do some of these things yourself. Google, google and google some more.

My understanding for the tripac evos you can hook your laptop into the usb. The tripac has software in the system that will load onto your computer and you can change settings from there. this is on the evo's only. For the older ones you have to go through the control panel.
