Good luck with Heartland. Good idea to stay away from USF Glen Moore, I was really hoping that they would be decent because of them being contected to Yellow/Roadyway.
    Thanks

Hey, I understand your concern with your wife and the baby. I pray all goes well and you can be there for both of them.

Hopefully you can find something else soon, or they start treating you better (I wouldn't hold your breathe, you know what I mean?).

My wife is expecting our second child in February (two boys, what fun). I'm concerned, too, about when I'll get home, but with the Heartland yard being an hour and a half from my house (closer to the hospital) I hope they will do the right thing.

I worked for Schneider when she was having the first one. Man, say whatever bad you want about them, pumpkin drivers have good, cheap insurance. I hope Heartland's is 1/2 as good. We don't have any right now. They did me like Jevic did you, but they didn't have any hourly for me to do, they just kept me really close to the terminal (it was 25 from the house) as it got closer. They ended up having to induce the labor (she was 5 days overdue and nothing). SNI let me have my weeks vacation so I was there for the whole labor, and stayed at home for a few days after the baby was born. We lived in IL at the time close to my parents so that was cool. Now here we are in TN and we're like you, no family anywhere around. I just hope I can be here to drive her to the hospital (if possible). I really want to be there for the delivery, I couldn't stand myself if I wasn't.

Maybe you ought to look into Heartland. With your Haz-Mat, you could get a penny more a mile. With 3 years experience and no HM, I'm starting at 41 cpm. Not bad, I don't think. I think with your experience you could start at like 45 or 46. I'm not officially a driver yet, so I don't get anything from you signing up (proving I'm not trying to recruit you for the money). That is, unless you don't fill out an application until after I'm hired and all that. They have a regional coming out of Kingsport, TN and Atlanta. Might be worth checking out.

Best of luck to your, your wife, your kids and the new baby on the way. Hope everything works out for you man. Keep us posted, I'll be around.

Good luck to you too, with the baby coming.

They are finally moving me toward the house. It looks like I will get a whole 34 hours at home.....oh boy!

I amgoing to try and hang it out with them, to keep the insurance. Jevic had great insurance, it only cost us $30.00 ( the copay) to have each of my children. They paid 100% labor & delivery, and my had to c-sections with both, I never got a bill from doctors or anybody. She will have to have a C-section with this one too. Hopefully it will go to the planned date, not 3 weeks early like last time. We don't know yet what we are having to early to tell. We already have a girl and a boy.

I would really like to leave, It has been a major drop in pay from Jevic (55,000) to USf Glen Moore (42,000 that's what they claim). USF Glen Moore is really hurting my bills.

I will have to look into Heartland, I have heard good and bad. Yeah, I would probably get the upper range, I have 21 years driving, and Jevic gave me ( and other drivers, who asked) my drivers file and letter stating employment, because it dropped from my DAC.

    Thanks

was a shame about Jevic. the company i used to drive for used them, and was one of their top carriers.. i had thought about going with usf. glad now i didnt. im delivering fast food restraunts now. every thing hand trucked in, heavy, & aggravating. but we dont have to lay over 2 or 3 days.

Im out of the Carlisle Terminal, my dispatcher is a prior driver. We all know that is the difference. I wouldnt be as happy if he was not.. My miles are low and sitting is offten, but the time of the yr and economy failing is the problem.
As far as this Heather Ive heard about her several times already, as being anal. I go by the majority and if looks like a duck quacks like a duck.. U got a duck. I cant remember working at any other companies and hearing complaints about a dispatcher as much as her. Im now believing their not driver tails. Well Im now more thankful my my DM.:biggrin_25525:

Yeah, heather is something, I don't think I would insult a duck to compare. I have been out now since Thanksgiving, I have been telling her I have to get home and she does nothing. My Wife is pregnant and put on bed rest and I have two small kids, on top of that. I don't even have my tree up yet or anything. Here it is Dec 23 and she has sent me the no where near the house. I have been complaining for weeks. Yesterday she told me she didn't care if I got home for Christmas and if I quit my job she won't get into to Knoxville to drop my truck, so I would have to abandon it and then I would never get a job. You can't complain to Jerry down there in Koxville he does nothing. I heard from a couple of other driver she is messing around with him. Wouldn't surprise me, how they let a dispatcher (Wendy) be married to the Safety manager it is weird.

My wife is totally stressing out. I have never in 21 years worked for company that thinks the drivers are doing them a favor. I told Heather you know without us Truck Drivers you wouldn't have a job. If I quit we loss the insurance, and if I stay I get screwed. I don't want to loss the insurance but I don't want me wife to loss this baby because of stress either. Some one told me to talk to Patrick up there in Carlisle, but I have also heard he is a joke also.....Any idea's, I would love to switch DM's, but figure if I ask they all hang together.

    Thanks

WOW! That is just cold. What a b---h! If times weren't so tight out here I would walk, but we know that ain't a good move if you have work right now.

Any family near your house to help out? Man, I wish you luck getting home and prayers for your wife.

Patrick is ok,I never had a problum with him. if you can find other drivers who are having issues with her and knoxville op's then you guys ALL need to get together and just drill him with calls. I would give the whole list of chain of mangement but I got a warrening from this place (the forum) for posting last names I can get the list. Personaly I would call anyways it can't get any worse...

Both of our families are up north, she has a friend that has been helping out but, my wife doesn't want to keep asking her. My wife feels bad asking for help. As of this morning I am sitting 300 miles from the waiting to hear if she going to move toward the house.

I wish my DM would hurry, I think I would get a rental car and head home.

    Have a Merry Christmas!
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.
