Why not train with a company that uses stick shifts?

i didn't know about it till just a few days ago. i also applied to prime. i was just wondering if its really that bad or not or hard to get rid of

You'll have to take a road test at the state DMV using a stick shift. Drivers have posted on here that they failed the road test while trying to get the "automatic" restriction removed.
If I were in your situation, train with a company that uses stick shifts.QuietStorm Thanks this. -
OK thanks for the info. ive been talking to prime i'm pretty sure they use stick

OK; best wishes in your new career. If Prime doesn't work for you, look at Wil-Trans; they haul for Prime and also train there. Here's one of their trucks. Jim Palmer trucks are the same.

I believe a lot of Prime trainers still have manuals. Even if you get a trainer in an auto you will practice at the yard in a manual prior to testing out.

Most companies are going to all automatic fleets anyway so is it really all that bad to have a restriction?

Always learn how to drive manual. when I worked for US Xpress most of there trucks are automatics but when I took my road test it was a 10 speed. even if u do drive a auto for awhile u will never forget the basics of shifting(you may be a little rusty but u will never forget the basics) Good Luckdunchues Thanks this.
