many have done what op wants to do,issue free. many have done it and had problems. depends on the truck,the suspension type,and the driver. some guys don't "feel" anything until the mirrors shake off the truck.
but the simple fact is there is side effects to what he's gonna do.

It's a Columbia so it's already shakes the mirrors off.
Probably just leave it alone till I need new steers or find another use for them then convert it later. The 24.5s are on a trailer I'm trying to get rid of. Just trying to save a few bucks since the last 3 months have not been kind to me on repairs. Also hoping the tall 24.5s will help keep the Cat a little bit happier. The 10 speed, 3.58s and tall 22.5s keep it at about 1600 rpms at 65

Truck had a 215" wb. The 24.5s are slightly under half life right now and the steers are about 3/4 life

I am in NC and I have my trailer tires and rims 22.5 I would be willing to swap for your 24.5s
Two new Kelly trailer tires, two new Chinese steers, one not so great tire, the other three have good meat on them -
My equipment doesn't leave florida others I may consider it

I'm still trying to figure out the whole driveline situation.
The way i see it. EVERYTHING will be raised an inch. The entire assembly will move. Frame, springs, rear ends. trans and engine.
If the suspension were raised or lowered i could see that. But not the entire assembly.
You're lifting the rears up. which sits on the sprints. which sits on the frame. which also has the engine and trans bolted to.
BTW. I have 24 steer. 22 drop and drives. 24 trailer and drop. I think I've got the only truck with different sizes. In our fleet. The 5th wheel is raised and so is teh suspension to make the trailer level.Last edited: Aug 26, 2017

if you can pull this off.
roll onto a cat scale. measure your trucks suspension to ground, wheel well heights and gaps to tires. driveline yoke out of transmission to ground
input yoke to first axle housing
drive shaft from first axle to second axle. measure both ends of driveshaft to ground.
a Cat scale is goung to have some adjustments due to 3 pads
but the system is level. other idea is look for grain or gravel scale. one large slab. -
I've done it before years back on a short wb day cab. Exactly as your describing. You could tell if looking closely but it's not a big deal. Throw em on there, it's not a big deal especially if your needing to save money.
Edit: now that I think about it. I had 22 stand ups on the back and 22 lp on the front. 22 lp to stand up 24's is more significant. Give it a try and see what happens is all you can do. Or buy another set of steers and sell your current set.Last edited: Aug 27, 2017

Lp22.5 steers tall 22.5 drives lp22.5 on trailer lift axle and tall24.5 on trailer tandem
Holding off for now. Had to buy new drives last week for upcoming inspection. Also found out trailer alignment is screwed up and near impossible to fix (single point suspension) and I can get 24.5 cheaper for it till I can get rid of it
