I replaced my factory insulation (American class interior) with dynamat and a wood floor and it's loud as hell. Going to put the factory insulation mat back in.

My 97 has lame 1/2" open cell foam for insulation between the interior panel and the firewall and it does squat for sound deadening. I bought some heavy jute style deadener mat to replace it and plan to secure some of the same stuff to the firewall facing the engine for further sound control.

If you have the factory heavy insulation mat that was under your carpet I would use that because the Dynamat just doesn't cut it. Dynamat I think is more to keep flimsy panels from vibrating too much from a LOUD stereo.

    Thank You!
It looks like the same material in my W900 except it doesn't have the foam but i am not sure if the foam is attached to the rubber or its seperate.

I bought my 378 carpet from I80. Been a few years and it's held up nice.
