You got that right. 20 years ago I'd fall off and jump right back up like my bones were made of rubber. But now? I swear they are made of fragile crystal.Dye Guardian, cke, Hurst and 1 other person Thank this.

Or start tarping O/S loads, 11 wide, 10'4 tall.
Securing 10' round steel tanks. Searching an unorganized auction yard endlessly for your lot #'s, no loading dock, 2 of the old 1950's farm tractors wont start and one is an old propane burner,.. here you go. And odds are he'll never see hay working for a large company,.. but round bails are always fun fun.
Open deck is open deck. Step deck is the most versatile,.. how ever,.. common sense and a different set of skills are needed in order to understand how you are going to load partials on a multiple pick and drop load.
Not trying to scare the guy. But sticks and bricks (Pallatalized) loads are simple and straight forward. (Boring) Step specific loads will not be of the garden variety bricks and sticks.
Just some examples of step specific and some of the misc loads that you need to figure out how to load and secure. Open deck requires a driver who can think for himself.
And a closer pic,.. you can see the 30ft straps did not quite make it to latch the other side of the load.
.
Not overly complicated loads. But required some effort to make work.

At fi
glance it looks like the trailer is in the water. What do you got 7 chains on that bad boy? Yep looks easier than lumber to me !!!!! Lol -
I recently picked up some longer ones. But for the most part 30 footers usually serve me well.
The main issue I have with the longer ones is that I like to roll my straps back up on the spools. The longer straps choke up and need to be removed and then rolled up and put away. Time consuming choir when its easier for me to use my roll up tool on the spool.

We take the straps off and put them in the sidebox.
I also carry half a dozen old strap chain ends, just for that reason. Some company knob grays the end of a strap and cuts a foot off and now it's too short. Grab a cheater chain and make it longer.Hurst Thanks this.
