$600 to $1000 a day for detention. $4 per mile range. Brokers are funding their retirement off these naive truckers.

I don't know about brokers, I've got trucks going down there and am dealing with a logistics company who FEMA contracted with. They asked for 10 more trucks so we pulled 10 more for this.

Would you volunteer your trucks to save lives for free?
Would you support the Red Cross with Minor donations and Help for Free?

Or is it still every man for their financial selves even in disaster.....

Send a dozen trucks down for Free would Show More Class than anything

    A21CAV and pattyj Thank this.

Who's gonna pay the drivers,or are they supposed
    To work for free too.
Every skilled tradesmen within 500 miles is loading
Up and heading down there to get paid.
Everybody heading down there is going for the money.
Why should a truck driver do it for free.

I live in northeast Texas by Shreveport, just got off
    The phone from calling home.
Have some friends there with a FEMA contract,
There loading up ready to go get paid.
Looking for more help, any able bodied person
That can pass a piss test is good to go.

It's money time in Houston, go get it.
You can bet your ### these big companies are going
To get thier cut of the pie.

    I'm Sure they all are..

    Does it Make it right?

If ZERO Money was involved, Are you suggesting everyone from outside Houston would say "#### em" ?

Point Im Making is only time people seem to help THESE DAYS is only when money is involved.. Quite Sad in my opinion.

    Wasn't always like this

And yet I've reading tons of stories about people going down there with anything that floats to help pull people out of the flooded areas....
No, people are helping where they can, but the simple fact is the human race has evolved into a merchant race.
If I was independently wealthy I would be going down there now. I have my family to keep a roof over their head, and food in the cupboard though. Having to miss out on work for a week or two, plus the expense of actually going down there, is simply outside my means.
As for donating to releaf efforts, there is that option. I tend to help that way as it is something I can do. Even that way though, the money is usually so mismanaged I'm not going to waste a lot of my money that has a better chance lining some scammers pockets than helping those in need.

I Know there are Good Hearted People...I'm Talking Strictly About Motor Carriers And any Big Business going to help from Far away.....

It just be refreshing to Hear about Help Without the $$$ To Follow.......
