In that case I would find something around 224. Good middle ground. Can get into tight daycab areas if needed, but gets down the road nicely as well. IMO

I understand, they're not a lease purchase though. I went through their orientation and it wasn't then, maybe it's changed.

What they did with us is say $2000.00 down, but then they waived it. I didn't take them up on the offer, but many of my friends did and are doing well pulling reefers. They also have dry van and flatbed accounts. You can do your own book keeping or they will do it for you for a small fee. That's been a few years ago, maybe it's changed. I'm not pushing the company at all, just thinking it may be an option. I drove for them a few months or year as a company driver & left for a tanker company.. They kept a few company truck around, but really didn't want company drivers. They gave us the short runs the 0/0's didn't want and it worked out well.

But isn't late 90's a little too old for most fleets?I'm not going to have a trailer,or DOT number.

No, it was a purchase without the lease.

Maybe the rules have changed; I don't want to say too much and then be wrong.

Make sure I'm not going to be in the middle of a divorce like he was.

Hey Ill give my two cents. Go buy they truck in cash. Freightliner with a detroit I second. Then shop for financing. Its eazy then because you allready own it. Shop around for a low rate. Then it frees your cash back up to get up and working. You might need that 20k in the first 6 months or sooner. But get established and pay it of early if you can.
