Thats about right...add in straight dedicated and not local...those can but more times than not...do not pay crap unless they are union like UPS...ABF and so on. One has to do team like we do and make the big bucks and it is only 4 days a week....unless we want to run more. 48 state OTR is good only for folks who do not care about being home and getting a staff up their bloody bums as far as pay goes.Mike2633 Thanks this.

This is not the truth at all. If you are nice to your dispatcher, do them some favors, haul some short runs, you'll be rewarded with cross-country runs. I'm talking this:
Load from Atlanta to Jacksonville then down to Miami. 34 reset, then you get a message on Qualcomm saying this: "I've got a load for you. Picks up at *so and so shipper* in Miami, goes up to *so and so reciever* in Seattle.
It's not slavery unless that's what you make it. If you're trying to get money for your family and to raise your kids, go with another job. If you're a bachelor with no family of home roots, go for it. In that prime situation you will be able to make enough money to pay your bills and taxes and for food and everything, but also enough to play around a bit.
For all new guys: Visit TruckingTruth.com. They speak the honest truth. I have been a member for over a year now, and have loved every minute of it. Over there we don't company bash, discourage, or show hatred to new guys or frequent visitors. Many people (most of them are mods on the forum) have years of experience, and can give some great advice.dogtrucker Thanks this. -
Nay there's no nice in this game. There is keeping your #### wired tight. Your either in business with people that have their act together or they don't. If you sense your circle is of minds that aren't the sharpest, don't hesitate to start working toward getting away from them, and into a different group.

This is exactly why I hate this forum.
-
Then why are you here?
-
To attempt to help some of the newbies who come here for advice, when as far as I'm concerned nobody should take the advice from here. You guys company bash (heck, you have a forum specifically for it), make trucking sound like slavery (it only is if that's what you make it) and that nobody should do it. Now, you guys are NOT helping with the millions more drivers we are going to need over the next few years.

Personally I hope a lot of the guys that are true professional truck drivers bail out when e log takes full effect.
Then I hope Swift & Werner & CRST hire even more WTF tard'd people than they have now that can't even fuel the truck without crashing into something.
Cause it's gonna mean more money for me.Grouch Thanks this. -
No, it won't. That's not how logic works. They are gonna keep the extra money, not pay more to the guy who somehow didn't hit anything. Also, basically about any company you work for already have e logs. Swift, Werner, and CRST have some really great drivers, and in fact, that is what most of them are.

You're on drugs.Cali kid, Midnightrider909 and The Big T Thank this.
