The notion that 100% of human drivers are never, should never, or will ever make a mistake or forget to make a change [100% of the time] is just ridiculous.

Not to mention many touch screens can be touchy and some systems are slow and clumsy and don't accept input changes like you thought they should.

Being able to edit non-Drive time is a requirement, not a "nice option".

Eowyn, TallJoe and DTP Thank this.

A guy rushes to a bathroom and forgets to click whatever and can't do anything about an e-log falsifying the true event? I thought it was about logging the real events and not what an e-log dictates. There is going to be a way (figured out one way or another) to edit whatever the line needs to be edited, after all it is still a driver who signs to certify a log page (?) and they cannot be forced to certify anything untrue.

At extreme scenarios when an e-log goes down (for whatever reason ;)), you can still drive, can't you?

Negative. I overheard a truck driver at the coffee counter at a Petro that in the event an eobr device fails, the vehicle must immediately be stopped and await a tow truck to move the vehicle.

It was a Petro so the driver I heard this from must be a trustworthy and reliable source.

Right! I can see myself e-log stalled on I-80 in WY waiting for a $20 000 fee tow truck coming to rescue me.:D

Perhaps you don't get enough work, and all the lost time isn't important?

    TallJoe Thanks this.

    Oh happy joy!

My truck broke down yesterday, as it was being towed, the elog system noticed movement and put it into drive automatically. Then when it sat at the dealership, it switched over to on-duty. So now I've been on-duty for over 24 hours while I was at the hotel and can't edit it myself.

    driverdriver and TallJoe Thank this.

You can't book so much work you stess yourself out over 48 minutes.
