There was a company out of Canada that was going to start varifying certified elds with the fmcsa regs. I'll see if I can dig up the name

 

very easy to use took about 1 day and had it figured out it also comes with a quick start guide

 

how is performing your VDO ?

 

good so far no problems

 

I have been told vdo can be used as aobrd . so you are using it as aobrd or as eld ? is it plug and play device or you called to VDO to activate it?

 

using it as eld and you have to contact vdo to get your activation setup and then its plug and play really simple.

 

what is activation setup ? some kind of code ? vdo asked for dot # ?

 

they set up all of your info for solo o/o company name dot# it is the info that goes into the road log just like on a paper log and then you can set your parameters for yard moves and pc.You have to put in mileage of the vehicle, hours,truck #, because you have to download your driver key every 13 days and it lets you know if there are any violations then you can fix them.

 

the driver key is supplied with eld ? is it usb drive ? thank you for info.
