I like the Iron. The Iron is pure. It either is going to happen or it's not, the Iron doesn't lie to you or make false promises or hold you back.
You show up. You bring that A game. You push your limits. It's a perseverance race not a speed race. You set goals and achieve them. Maybe not when you want but when the Iron lets you. You see the Iron only lets you once you've worked for it and earned it. There is no half-arsing it and being good at moving the Iron the two don't mingle. The Iron weeds out stupid and lazy pretty dang fast.
But it's oh so rewarding.
I'm going to steal one of six's lines. It's perfecting your craft. That's the beauty of flatbed. It's like the Iron. You don't get good overnight. You put work in you advance. You work at it and educate yourself and work at it. You advance. You evolve. You go on to meet new challenges knowing that you're up to it, because you have that A game with you.
The door slammers that are content being door slammers, good for you. I can bet 95% of door slammers never touched the Iron.
What has happened?

Cleaning out a store going out of business, I came by for a pickup at the same time as one of our competing drivers. His load was @450 lbs, and of course, he didn't have a liftgate.
But I did. We put it up onto my truck and rolled it onto his so he could get the job done. Union or not, competing companies or not, we're all human beings created in the image of Almighty God, and we need to remember that. Do unto others and all.tony97905, cybill234, gentleroger and 3 others Thank this. -
NOT true!
They are out there, problem most people don't want to hear the truth. If you can not only handle, but actually want to hear it, then they will show themselves...
After all, if you can't handle criticism, how can they truly teach you? We learn best from our OWN mistakes. -
They are out there and you are right. They won't offer if not asked. I always ask for help and advice and still watch how others do things. If you stop learning, you are done!

Thanks for posting this. Helps me keep my glass half full perspective, seeing folks do such. An glad someone is looking out for the four legged furry folk. I was happy to read about 1000 people being saved, but hearing they saved 50 dogs also? That gave me an even bigger smile.
What can I say...I like dogs more then I do most people. Less drama.
Keep up the good work to those doing such...an to stay on topic..."Get off my grass an turn down your music you whippersnappers!"

The better I get to know men, the more I find myself loving dogs. - Charles de GaulleG13Tomcat Thanks this. -
The reason you need to ask is because of the people that'll bite your head off for trying to help. If somebody's struggling and I can help without getting in the way I will.
-
The reason you don't hear it all the time is because you kind of sully the good deed by bragging about it. Maybe I'm just old fashioned.Sirscrapntruckalot Thanks this.
