Last two weeks I've had two very week agents. Just liars. Lieing scumbags? Maybe. One cost me a load, good load because there was no trailer for me to hook.
Especially after I asked him and his supervisor directly " You are certain there will be a trailer for me to hook?"
" Absolutely. We keep several at each location. "
This just sounded like total BS, and it was.
Load paid great, maybe that's why, they know they are going to stick it your ###. So lost my next good load with the professional agent.
Now here's where they go from liars to lieing scumbags. The dude immediately sticks his head in the sand. The solution ended up being I got paid to BT all the way back to Phoenix to get a trailer from his pool, probably the only trailer in the Southwest. Trailer Usage at Landstar said 3 day wait, and God only knows where I'd gone to get it.
    SO
Dude could have resolved this in the first hour, and I could have gotten my next load. No, stick head in sand, and drag it out all day.
There's a lot more BS that goes with this that I'm not even going to go into.
I did get my money. I did get the trailer.

Fast forward to today. Booked this load last Tuesday, good, not great, but good. The one coming back is really good.
Wait. Agent didn't make appointment for delivery. Agent doesn't even have contact information.
    I find.
Can't deliver until Tuesday. But they said Monday. We closed Monday.
    F me to tears.
Call professional agent again " I won't make your pick up. "
    F. Takes me off, puts it back out.

So I'm looking at my phone, and I notice this contact the shipper gave me isn't even in the same state I'm going to. Call her back. "Do you have the number to the facility I'm going to?"
Like 5 minute wait, music to final jeapordy playing in my head.
"No. But try looking under this name (_____________________). "
    I google.
    Bingo.
Parent company matches address on BOL's.
    Call. Must have appointment.
Like 5 minute wait, music to final jeapordy plying in my head.
Human being " Yes that is us. Yes our product comes from there."
    "Can I make an appointment?"
    Transferred to voice mail. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

Professional agent calls. " Have load Wednesday, you can have. Same rate."
" Is my load gone yet? There is a glimmer of hope." Tell him the deal.
    "No. It's still up."

    Receiver calls back. PRAISE GOD!!!!!
    " How about 9AM Monday? "
" Yes. Please. God bless you ma'am. Thank you so much."
" No problem. See you then."
" BTW. Has the agent contacted you yet?" I sent agent all the info in an e-mail, as her head is also going into sand.
    " No, not yet."
" OK, thanks. I'll inform her."

Call back professional agent, get load back coming back.

Get e-mail like 3 hours later from the liar doing this load after I sent her another telling her I got the appointment.
" Sweet. I've been trying to call them all day."

Well she just graduated from liar, to lieing scumbag.

Now I have these in e mails if proof is needed.

And if there are any grown ups from Landstar that read this forum. Anytime you need me to do any of the agents job, their job, just e mail me, be happy to take care of it for them.
All while doing what I did with these two. Started moving truck, and gleaned the info using Cere while driving. Wouldn't want them to have to follow through with stuff whilest they sit on their fat ##### and stuff their faces.

You should bring your truck over to Crete.
I absolutely hate a liar or a thief.
But a murderer I'll listen to the story, (most people that get killed, sort of deserve it)

That story is exactly why I got my own authority, handle every single aspect of the load I CHOOSE to take from beginning to end. Stuff happens from time to time obviously, however, I can't tolerate dimwits or lying scumbags.

That's one of the reason I don't do drop and hooks on the delivery side, they will lie and say there is an empty, and there is and ruin your hole plan. Landstar isn't set up well to get you an empty if there isn't one like at a company like schneider

Schneider isn't set up for it either unless you don't mind going 100 miles out of your way to get one. This is why I won't do drop & hook anymore. No way!

Man, you aren't kidding there. The favorite saying is, I have 10 empties there. Won't be no problem!!

You get there, there is 1 trailer and it is loaded, call the agent, d## somebody has come in there and stole my empties I better call Jacksonville. Yeah right..

Pick up pre-loaded trailers - Yes
Drop loaded p/u empty = No Can Do.

Lol. Not sure how much longer I can take it. You have to learn quickly what to take, what to avoid, and the areas to avoid.

Buying your own trailer is an option, but you will miss out on some Very Good drop/hooks at times. I mean preloaded trailers, not drop loaded. That would really hurt during slow times.
