Exactly. The funny thing about the broker load I described is I didn't have any numbers, I had to look them up on Google. Thank god for modern technology. In the old days I would've had to walk to a pay phone and rifle through a city map. The Snowman can keep that foolishness lol :biggrin_2559:

Yup, I stayed at the terminal. And I had my marker lights on the night before so that my truck was more visible to someone backing up in the dark. I was at a truck stop with very good parking, and people still manage to park like idiots. It's laziness, honestly. So, I lit my truck up to help prevent damage. You'll see a lot of that once you're out on the road, especially with O/O drivers. It's a small measure to protect your ride. While this truck doesn't belong to me, I've grown quite fond of it. No scrub driver is gonna ding her up on my watch! It's a jungle out there.... DSCF6287.JPG

Sup y'all, greetings once again from my home. Man I really miss this computer on the road lol. Today was about as easy as it gets. I drove a whopping 90 miles today. These working conditions are terrible! How can these guys expect me to drive that far in one day??? It's too much to ask. I may consult a lawyer if they push me that hard again. Slave drivers!!! :biggrin_2559::rolleyes: My final was in Glenwillow Ohio, which is essentially Solon. Previous to this job I was a trim carpenter, and I was up there a lot. If you ever get a load going to this place, make sure you look at the driver directions, and follow them exactly. Whoever wrote those did a good job. There is an easier way in if you are familiar with the area, but the driver directions on the Qualcomm will keep you safe. That area is very strange as far as trucks go and if you make a wrong turn anywhere you'll quickly end up on a road you cannot be with your truck. And by the way, there is A TON of money in that community. For you as a truck driver, that means that there is zero crime and the cops have nothing better to do than write you a costly ticket. You have been warned. The security guard was a ham as always. I love that guy. He's always in a good mood and he's really friendly. I got backed in with the help of another driver because I somehow managed to get myself set up poorly. Why is it that I can make difficult backing situations look easy, and make myself look stupid on the simple ones? That was embarrassing. Oh well. This place is a great stop, but pack a lunch because they don't exactly move quick. But I'll take the tradeoff of a great experience everytime I go there. The lot is roomy, clean, and well marked. The staff is very friendly. I am betting that it's a really fun place to work just based on the interactions I see between the employees. Very fun crowd. I got unloaded then went back to my home stop. It's a very surreal situation for me to drive to my truck and then go to work and come back home. It feels weird. So now, my home time begins and I kicked it off by posting to you fine folks. Somehow that seems fitting. As a side note... @FalconsFan21 it appears that Truckeritis wears off over time. I jumped into my car and had zero issues. I still rely on cruise to keep my car up to speed on the highway, but I'm good other than that. Hopefully it gets better for you over time as well. Alrighty guys I'm gonna get to work. I have a few chores to handle and I need to get a jump on them. Hope everyone is doing well. Be safe out there, keep the rubber side down. Peace y'all.

I just got a phone call from another driver. Same situation I had last weekend. He tried to call the consignee because he had an issue, and wasn't able to get in touch with them. So he contacted dispatch. He got the exact same message that I did. "Don't ever contact customers blah blah... we don't need 800 drivers calling the customers blah blah.... send us a message and we'll handle it blah blah..." Apparently whoever this person is works on Saturdays. What is the friggin deal with this guy? This is a problem and it needs addressed. The wording of the message is extremely condescending, rude, and unnecessary. As with my message, this driver's message was unsigned. So we have no clue who this dick is.

That's the plan, honestly. Treating us like children will breed contempt. David Millis reads these threads, so hopefully he'll look into it.

Those would be 4 racks of baby backs. Been on smoker since noon. Got corn on cobb ready to throw on the grill, along with some homemade mac n chz. My kids love me being home lol. Their moms idea of cooking is putting a hot dog in the microwave and burning it still lmao

Can you adopt me and my kids?? I've got a 17 year old, a 12 year old, and a 2 year old. And we're hungry! That looks awesome. I do chicken barbecues on the side. We've got stainless pits designed to do chicken halves. I LOVE me some BBQ. I've also done corn on these. Man I'll bet those ribs are kickassz. That's me with my back to the camera saucing up those chickens last weekend....
