Well it's been a busy weekend.

Spent Friday looking at houses. Hard to justify that kind of expense though for a place I'll barely use. Not sure what I'm going to do with that. Not a whole lot of options around me either. Everything either costs a fortune or needs $50K in renovations to make it livable.

Saturday I ran up to norther WI near Marinette and looked at 4.1 Acres of woodlands. Comes with a 37ft travel trailer on it with well water and power installed already. Deck around the front of the trailer. Hasn't moved since the previous owners parked it there 8+ years ago. Currently they have a port a john on site for bathrooms. Trailer looks to be in good enough shape. No noticable water leaks and pretty clean. Some staining on the linoleum floor but I can replace that easily. Access to plenty of nearby lakes within a couple miles and the 200+ miles of ATV trails. Endless snowmobile access as well for winter. Putting cash down on Tuesday and then giving the bank a call for the rest of it. Looking forward to having a place to go up there and get away from the city. Probably won't do anything much with it until next spring. Then I'll be giving somebody a call about getting some type of septic/mound system installed. No cell service there. Might have to either look into getting a land line installed or a signal booster. Otherwise I guess it's a good excuse for not answering the phone at 2AM with work calls.

Sunday was packing stuff up from my mom's house to put in storage. Moving stuff sucks. Another reason I really don't want to buy a house.

Sounding like I'll be loading some time tomorrow for St John, New Brunswick. No confirmation on that yet though.

    Sand mounds are $$$.

Depending on regulations, I would steer you towards running your grey water into the ground and just doing an in ground tank...have a honey dipper suck it out every 6 months or a year.

That's probably going to be what happens. Biggest issue would be during winter months keeping it from freezing. If I go with just a buried tank I can probably do that myself over a weekend with a rented excavator.

Right now the grey water from the sink/shower just dump onto the ground out back. Toilet inside is unused. The port a john outside goes with the land and is currently it emptied every 6 months or so. I'm just not looking forward to freezing in winter.

Woodstove? Get a metal toilet seat and hang it by the stove

Dig below the frost line for pipes and tank, use electric heat tape and insulation on all your pipes above the frost line.

Being in a travel trailer your going to battle frozen pipes alot, what's there for fresh water supply?
