Hi! If you know of good truck loads for owner operators in Canada for freight within Canada and to USA, please help a brother out.
I'm a complete newbie in owner operator taking direct loads service. Any help or suggestions will be much appreciated.
What certificates similar to DOTnumber and MC number are required in Canada?

You require a Safety Fitness Certificate, either "provincial" if operating intra-provincial or "federal" if operating inter-provincial. Your truck registration will be prorated if you are operating inter-provincially. You will need a Financial Responsibility Certificate if you operate in BC. If operating inter-provincially you will also have to register with IFTA, unless you are only doing a trip or two, in which case you can buy trip permits (Canada only). You should be able to find everything you need on the Alberta Transportation Commercial Vehicle website. They have a lot of information, a lot of links, a complete manual to start and run your business, etc.
Good luck, I think you're going to need it.upnorthwpg and googieburger Thank this. -
Do you know of websites for load???? which are legitimate and primarily for operators from canada? -
No, but there are others who have posted such information. I had good relationships with carriers providing power-only, so I didn't need to resort to load boards.googieburger Thanks this.
