Just when they convert those interstates into one way outbound only all those red lines are going to double...

No one ever talks about the poor who have no money to fly, drive or take a train out of town. They get to ride it out dead or alive.

The French reported that 4 very powerfully built buildings failed about a day ago against the wrath of Irma and two islands are essentially wiped and then piled filled with rubble. It will be 6 months before anyone can live there.

When we were in Baltimore, Cape Hatteras was our marker point. Storms inside of it come right up the bay and we are it. Otherwise outside of the lighthouse will come up towards NYC or Connecticut. But in most of my trucking life CBBT system which is route 13 from Norfolk Bridge and Tunnel system to Eastern Maryland was the most important. As long you were loaded to 40K or heavier at 65 mph winds or lower they would let you run it. (Although the rolling main might break across the pavement here and there... ) but anything above 65 for loaded anything and above say 36 for empty anything is prohibited. Other than the GWB, it's a pretty dynamic bridge down there in Norfolk. Especiallly when you see rollers something like 25 feet high and 15 seconds apart marching not far under the old span you are on.

I take back what I said in my previous post. Airline ticket prices on sites such as Expedia actually exceeded $3500! Except for Jet Blue.

Besides the obvious life and property issues this is going to be a monumental traffic disaster. I really question where everyone is evacuating too. Already have fuel shortages in FLA and I'm sure GA and SC will be seeing the same within the next day or so.

I know the Atlanta area has been opening places for people to stay free of charge. One such place is the Atlanta Motor Speedway has opened up its campground and shower houses for people that are evacuating free of charge just show up and they will find you a spot.

Both the governor and mayor has said numourous times if you don't have the money ,gas somebody will come pick them up.They gave a number if you live in the keys and an 800 number for other areas of Florida.I can't even begin to tell you how much officials are stressing to evacuate. The keys everyone has already sought shelter and all the businesses and hospitals closed.

I'd sure hate to be a person waiting for a flight at the Miami airport right now.
