Freightliner Cascadia Day Cabbers Need Help!

    One thing I've noticed about these Crapcadias is some have shorter hoods than others, as was the case with L-model Fords. That may have something to do with this apparent leg room issue.

    And one seemingly common complaint I do recall reading about on here was the design of the hood latches, and having to reach inside for them. That's certainly not a solution looking for a problem, is it?:rolleyes:

    Sleep when you get home, around noon or one or 2... and then sleep again from now til 1 am (or 0300 like me................delays due to rain....) Kinda like logging split sleeper for OTR but..not.

    Our outfit runs the short hood Cascadia day cabs. I've driven the '16, '17, and a couple of the new '18 models and these trucks are ridiculously roomy and spacious all the way around. Head room leg room elbow room, and this is coming from a guy who stands easily at the better part of 6'4. I work in the garage so I've touched every truck in the fleet at one point or another and I have nothing bad to say bout the trucks at all (except for the trash ### eaton-fuller automatic transmissions)

    We don't actually have Freightliners there just rentals although I'm with you on the Eaton Fuller transmissions those are pretty bad actually my biggest complaint about those is the reversing yeah forward there kind of dumb, but there tolerable it's the reversing where there stupidest.

    I moved the seat back in my truck today and it's better so will go with that.

    There's two kinds of Cascadia the regular nose and then a snub nose model. The hood latches are plain stupid dumbest design I've ever seen half impossible to get the hood open took me a good minute on my rental truck to figure it out.

    So Moved my seat back and my truck is a-okay. I was on an awful sleep schedule and it was killing me yesterday I got some real sleep and it made a huge difference. Had a long day today, but not tired or anything. So it was my fault.
    I like the Jake break control on the steering wheel in the Cascadia that's a nice feature.

    Teh trick with reverse on an Eaton auto is to left foot brake it.

    otherwise you go slamming (and I do mean slamming, i expect in a few years you're going to hear a lot more about broken off king pins on trailers after all the slamming from these fine "auto's". ) into everything

    still not perfect, but better

    try backing an eaton auto with a loaded spread axle.
