Hey y'all, what's up. Tonight I'm in good ol' Cartersville. And what a ride it was. I went to my final yesterday morning and was given a load picking up relatively close in Indiana. Hammond to be exact. It was close, mileage-wise, but it was a pain in the butt to get to. It delivered the same day in Edwardsville, Illinois. Opie gave me a preplan before he left for yet another pickup after that load. Holy moley that's a lot of dock time in one day. Luckily my load to Edwardsville was a dnh, and the next load was only a mile away. Unfortunately it was a live load and I was running low on time. When I got docked, I asked if there was overnight parking available. The guy running the forklift said no, but he loaded me very quickly when I told him my situation. That guy was awesome, and really friendly. There was a Pilot a couple miles away, so I reserved a spot and got parked with 15 minutes left on my 14. Whew! I was moving as soon as my 10 was over with the intention of getting to Cartersville, fueling up, and assessing my remaining time. If everything went smoothly, I might be able to make it to Jackson before shutting it down for the day. Things looked promising until I got to Chattanooga. 24 east was shut down because of an accident. For once my phone and my GPS were on the same page, and that never happens. I had to take 59 south to GA 136 over to 75 south. Ladies and gentlemen I'm here to tell ya, that's the toughest road I've ever been on in any vehicle. God willing, I'll never be on it again. If I didn't feel like an experienced trucker before, I sure as hell do now. 460 and 220 in VA/NC look like a walk in the park to me now. It took me 2 hours to go 77 miles, and 25 of those miles were on 75. Crimany. I had plans to get some laundry done tonight. After running that road, my plans changed. Beer. Do not pass go, do not collect $200. Go immediately to get a beer and a sammich. I am more mentally worn and stressed from that last bit of today's trip than I have ever been in this truck. I have an open window for tomorrow's delivery time, so I'm gonna relax a little and decompress. Enjoy a beer, sleep in a bit, submit an ETA and head out. I'm heading to Valdosta, and I'm guessing that I'll get a load from Cedar Springs after that. Hopefully going north and away from the impending hurricane. I have to imagine that no matter where my next load is, my final will be far away from the Jabberwocky that's coming our way. Well guys, I'm signing off. Hope everyone is doing well. Be safe out there in Truckerland, and keep the rubber side down. Peace y'all, catch ya tomorrow.

Crap. It isn't working. Posting links to youtube videos seems to result in having it embedded automatically.

Just as a courtesy to folks who are reading this thread to determine if it's financially viable to you...I just got my payroll statement today and I'm sitting at 39.8k for the year. I probably shouldn't be posting that, but whatever. If someone wanted that info they could probably get it whether I wanted them to or not. If it helps you make up your mind and jump on the Millis train, I don't mind sharing. I'm done giving mileage updates because I never remember and it's a bit of a hassle to be honest. Especially since miles are completely dependent on your work ethic, home time, and circumstances like holidays.

Dont get in any big hurry Tim, got to Albany at 7 30 and I'm #8 on list. Just an fyi 75N traffic from Macon down was extremely congested, its going to suck heading north with whatever we get from down here today.

Sounds like that beer was well deserved, friend. What a run. Doesn't look like the I-75 situation is going to get better anytime soon. The media is saying this may end up being the largest mass evacuation---ever.
