So much for that high dollar load to Houston . The brokers screw you always. In the whole huge state there were 7 cars leaving. Use the extra scratch you thought you made to fill up for empty ride back. Florida will be a worse deal bend over.

This doesn't really help car haulers, we can't drop and hook nor can we load pallets of water instead of cars.

With so many vehicles totaled and underwater in Houston, did you actually think you'd get a load of vehicles OUT?
And this is the brokers fault?
There will be many vehicles going INTO Houston as dealers replenish stock for people that lost vehicles. Lots of luck for anything leaving.

My point is rates are still in a downward spiral and Everytime a rate appears to be higher there is a story behind it. And YES I blame brokers and haulers for moving low rate cars. The brokers pass the reduction in rates to carriers they haven't taken 20-40 revenue drops over the past 7 years, carriers have. The title of this post was in joke , I unloaded and drove 800 miles empty home to Atl. I don't wait for loads or waste a day to get 1 or two singles to move.

Many of them will be crushed on site, especially the new cars. Those that are salvaged will need to be ahipped, although from someone who spent years in the salvage auction business most of that will be local or regional work. It is cheaper for the big salvage companies like LKQ to cut the car in TX and ship the parts to their warehouses rather then ship a whole car. Also, many car haulers don't like to haul non-running cars, too much work and a greater chance of damaging our trailers.

Your original post was worded as such that you actually expected to get something out of Houston.

    Sorry for the misunderstanding.

This is why you should fully plan on leaving the area empty and quote your rate accordingly.
