I had a delivery at Sam's Club last night at 2100 in Layton, UT.
There was a bit of fun when I got there at 2045 and opened the receiving door - the alarm went off and no one was there.
A few minutes later 4 cop cars show up as I am walking back to my truck.
I explained what happened. After the Sam's people finally got there the cops went in to make sure no bad guy had gone in (there was an attempted robbery a block away a few minutes before I set off the alarm) and then I was finally able to deliver my load.
Someone is probably in hot water for failing to lock that door.
Earlier I was sent several pplans. All of them had the comment... please pick up the load ASAP and roll with it. You will be told what to do with it soon.
I really hate that message.
I avoided all of them as they were all crummy loads. They were also all planned out of Phoenix.
At 0630 this morning I got a pplan sent by SLC that was much better.
Pick up a live load at 1130 a few miles away. Deliver on the 14th, t-calling at New Boston, MI.
1650 miles. It's a Canada load.
MUCH better than a 2 stop Costco load going to SoCal that was already late, or any of the other garbage I was sent yesterday.
Sometimes it pays to be stubborn.

Lucky you in Wendover. I like staying there.
Luckier me, though, going in the opposite direction.
I've been stuck in the western third far too long. It will be nice getting east of CO for a change.MysticHZ Thanks this. -
So I'm picking up a t-call in Memphis and go to start mu pretrip when suddenly, this...
FerrissWheel and scottied67 Thank this. -
I'm not sure what I am seeing in the second picture.
I had a surprise with my morning pretrip as well.
A flat trailer tire.
That set me back about 3 hours.
When I finally spoke with on-road the guy asked me to use the app to say how good the service was.
I decided not to.
He said he would call me back with an ETA for repair. He did, and said it would be about an hour and no longer than 90 minutes.
A bit later I get a QC message that the repair shop would be called when it opened in 45 minutes to arrange a time. I guess he was blowing smoke when he called before.
The next message and call was from a different person.
But the repair was done quickly once the mechanic got there.
It is a t-call load with plenty of time, so that was no problem. -
One side of the reserve air tank is unbolted and lying on the axle ... I've picked up one once like it also.Moosetek13 Thanks this.

I'm guessing that line of rust on the frame is where the mount point should be?
-
It didn't come unbolted, it flat broke. When it fell, the fitting from the air line snapped off in the brake chamber, so they backed it off to keep the braje from dragging and dropped it off at Memphis.
FerrissWheel Thanks this.
