I second Schneider. But I would check out the LTL companies too. XPO sometimes trains new drivers as does old dominion, sometimes. Seems like it terminal dependant. Yes you may have to touch freight, but the majority I did was on a forklift.

He'll, you may even find a dirt hauling gig in phoenix. Take a peek at Craigslist and INDEED.

You might be put on a load with a trainer designed to make you move 48000 pounds of cases of sodas or whatever to be evaluated.

Phoenix is a place where for example west about 60 miles is a place that ships cantelope. In bins on pallets. Sometimes you gotta move the things by hand.

The ultimate no touch and actually banned from access inside the docks that you back into is with McKesson of Memphis. Those are with third party contractors such as Longistics etc. Usually overnight teams anywhere east of Denver of very expensive medicines. They reload you in 10 minutes with bales of cardboard back to memphis. For us this was the ultimate no touch, but because of Memphis it introduces other problems such as being Prey when and if people found out what exactly is in that box. IT's plain, unmarked trailers and tractors and you would not give them a second look.

I'll tell you something I witnessed decades ago. We had a female O/o show up docked with a load of cooled produce. All of it has to go from big pallets on her trailer onto small wood inside the facility. She sat on a pile of pallets while 5 drivers had her unloaded in a hour and gone. Shrugs. It's just one of those things.

Next to phoenix is Nogales. They load produce east. Ive talked about that town enough and understand there has been changes since the Border Patrol has established a presence in the last 16 years or so there.

Phoenix is a place where older people go to escape the snows etc for life. And enjoy the sun. They want everything delivered by truck and train. And traffic patterns there are somewhat strange at times. Mesa in particular is somewhat dangerous. As is south phoenix. I don't particularly care for it. But I tolerate that area becuase we are usually rolling through going somewhere else.

I am surprised nobody asked this yet. OP, is that you in your Avatar? If so, how the hell did you end up looking for trucking job when you have such a pretty face?
Don't hide that beauty in a metal box where nobody can see you. Find something local. Trucking is not a good job for a young woman

I'd look into Jim Palmer. They seem to have a detailed training school/riding with trainer program, which I would think is a good thing. Not to mention the APU's. If you look on youtube, look up Allie Knight. Loved her videos and she works with Jim Palmer.

Hi daniphoenix. There is KKW. I am looking at them at the moment. Dry van. All Western 11. Have heard you start off with low miles but good company to start I think. Jim Palmer has a few women drivers. Allie Knight drove for them once.

Whatever decision you make, as said above, do you homework. Seems you already are knowing that everyone complains about every where...it's the amount of complaints. You could give some people $10k a week to sit at home and they would complain their butt hurts!!!
It will be a tough first year wherever you end up. Just look at your end goal and keep your eye on the prize! Surprised nobody mentioned it there is a thread on here of females looking for teammates. Not sure if their companies provide CDL school. It might be worth looking in to that way you know what you're getting into ahead of time. Good luck with the search!

Thanks for saying it, and not so sure that even covers it all, whether man or woman. Trucking lifestyle and the job kinda interwoven.

So many opinions on what makes good and bad, but seriously I'll put my hand up for that and say it again:
Trucking is not a good job for a young woman
