The Century was plenty. But those little posts and round fender mirrors were something I could not live without on the cross bronx. Even the cabover had a special mirrior bolted above the pax window for me. Saved me a few times, and when I never looked specifically at it, I hit cars...

Lets put it this way, in my Cascadias that are a 60" sleeper I have a fridge, wall to wall overhead storage, two full length floor to ceiling uprights TV/Micro cutout, and wall to wall under bunk storage. In a 60" Pinnacle you get underbunk storage and a shelf! I could be wrong, just seemed like a lot more storage in the freightshaker.Last edited: Sep 14, 2017
x1Heavy Thanks this. -
The only "aerodynamic" truck that I thought looked even halfway decent is the Granite. Just has that serious "let's get to work" look to it. I could do without the "soft" edges or "friendly" appearance most of these alleged trucks have. I don't want a "friendly" truck. I want one that gets the job done. This new one just looks ridiculous...more like a Disney character than an actual truck.
Dave1837, OLDSKOOLERnWV, x1Heavy and 1 other person Thank this. -
A poster on TTR talked about his small Mack and it turned out as best as I could figure it was a Granite. Probably cab and frame etc built first sold to state for further addition of work related body stuff int he back. I thought it looked rather nice like a working truck. Maybe it shouted work more than nice to me. Makes sense?
Our Century had about a thousand over tare weight for the two of us and our stuff. FFE was nice about it provided we made sure to burn a little fuel when loading to 80K against certain scales.
I keep going back to that durn century, it did everything we asked of it even on top of a landfill. It's not much of a truck but it was almost perfect. We could use a bit more space, a little more floor insulation (We had two carpets on there that fixed that....) and missed the old double pin diamond interiors we used to have long ago) And maybe a little more speed. 63 was still making us late, even as a team. We had a occasional question from dispatch are we gonna make that time appt on the dot? 4 minutes here, 7 minutes there to the good. But I suspect some dispatchers ate antiacids waiting to see if we made it on time that far... all they have to do is up the speed #### it LOL. sheesh.... -
I agree on the older models, but the new sleeper has much more storage. The 60" will not be offered in the new truck, only a 48" flat top or a 70", but storage looks to have increased significantly.KANSAS TRANSIT Thanks this.

No one is buying that 48 flattop come on. what is the matter with them? That's like freaking 1978....

Regional operations is what it is aimed at. Tankers, flatbed and grain trailers are a few that come to mind.x1Heavy Thanks this.
