You have basically to give up on your life, health and yourself to "run hard" to make a few extra pesos that would not make a dent in the looming hospital bills. It is sad to read so many drivers who see nothing wrong with that picture, more than that they take pride in giving up on their ...humanity basically. I dont really know any other occupation where this idiotic mindset is so prevalent.

And how bout you stop the personal attacks against me and @pattyj. We haven't made a single against you. You are the one getting mad because we dont agree with your argument that good pay and good miles is bad.
How bout a picture of one those "bad" messages.Anonymousproxy, driverdriver and pattyj Thank this. -
Yeah, 9hrs a day is running real hard. Which is what I do. I stay out as long o do by choice. My kids are in school. But I'm home when I need to be and for 7-14 days at a time.

Finally, and tell them to go to hirschbach where they will definitely get their good pay and three preplans after every delivery, which i definitely dont want. That's ridiculous. If ima any where near run like that, you can best believe ima be doing it in my OWN TRUCK, not for NO COMPANY to get rich off of my sweat and blood. And i know where the sensible trucking companies are, don't need luck to find them.Last edited by a moderator: Sep 14, 2017

I've been around. You cant run 9 hrs/day like a clock, it takes clock like dispatch and outside circumstances, which is rare. I used to run 6 months straight, not by the book, but extremely rarely it was seriously stupid, and yet at the end of those streaks I've heard voices and whispers in the parking lots, I woke up without remembering where I was at, why I was there, and occasionaly I could not recollect my name right away. Those are natural mental outcomes of "running hard", I dont really know how to get proud of that. You can get proud of overcoming things, working hard, etc. if it buys you a slice of normal life. The trucking biz is not that generous, it sentences you for more of hard labor and sacrifice with no light at the end in sight.Canned Spam and Jon Dough Thank this.
