    Thank You!!

My wife and I are working on a remodel (still) on a small house we bought back in March. There is a 5' wide doorway between the living and the dining rooms. 38" of wall on one side and 53" on the other. She said she'd like to make them both 38-40" wide half walls to open up the house. We're going to put an 8" x 12" beam across the top with a 6" x 8" post at each side of the doorway.
I'm going to make some sort of a "T" bracket with square head lag bolts to hold it together. Still working out the design right now. I'm also open to suggestions as well. I really like the hand hammered look. Partly because it implies hand made and partly because you really can't screw it up. :D

    Thank You!!!

That's the finished product. When he first told me what he was doing, I figured he'd drill a hole through it (the top is hollowed out) and drop a single wire for each socket. Then wire them together and leave the wires in the hollowed out section, out of sight.

I'm amazed that the Homeowner goes to that expense with Ur portion of the Project and then Mickey Mouses the Electrical part of it

That will look very neat! I can't think of anything right now to help you but I'll think about it.

On our new house we had built the guy that did the breezeway and garage added 6*6 wood corbels towards the roof peaks to add some character to it. Of course it's not for support at all but to fill in that void. He is also going to build us a barn door between the main house and breezeway.

Here is some pictures of the outside, I really like it.

Pipelayers are not that difficult. It is a matter of placement on the deck. You have to off set them to balance the trailer. Off set on one brand of trailer won't be the same on another brand of trailer. To know when you have it right, raise your deck up when you hook the neck back up if it lifts one side before the other you know you need to move it farther to one side. AND I DONT Care WHAT Anyone Says ,Wrap A Chain Around the Weight Rack Arms to secure it from falling down. Plus it counts as an extra tied down point.

Those are nice. I like the "big beam", "heavy built" look stuff like that gives houses. I'm guessing there's stonework at the bottom?
