You have found yourself within bounds of HOS law that has managed to shackle people like me.

What I would do is this. Instead of trying to wring a 11 hour day out of your logs and hope to have a parking spot at the end... I would put in a 9 hour day leaving a 1 hour reserve for a chance that there is no parking just then.

The small stuff like breaks is a liability to me. The 30 minute break? I cannot do it. I don't break. I already did that in the berth last night.. let's go. KWIM?

Unfortunately everyone's known about this for years ! Been fought hard against! But unfortunately we lost!

 

So if your running percentage you'll be fine! If your getting paid by mile get teady to take home less! Because the days of you modifying your logs to get an extra load are over! Maybe they' ll finally realize we need to go back to the way it was and do away with 14 hour rule!

 

Nope. It's in the process of getting delayed via a law by Congress. They failed one attempt last week, and so far the single attenpt left is likely to not hit its mark.
Who knows, anything can happen.

 

Best prayers but we've been fighting this for 10 years at least ! We lost in supreme court! And dead in congress! So prepare yourselves! ATA wants this! Wants to put independents out of business! And the revenue to be generated is enormous! So I"m still hoping but have ordered DOT APPROVED ELD's for mine!
