NOAA's winter weather 3-day precipitation forecast maps came back up a few days ago (Sep 15 thru May 15)

    WPC Winter Weather Forecasts

There's actually a few 4 inch dots here and there in the MT/WY/ID area in the day 3 time frame

I can almost never find the proper opportunity to use it. I can usually get a good night sleep down to about 6-8°C (43-46°F), and I wouldn't run the risk of letting my CAT go to sleep below -5°C (23°F). That ~10°C window doesn't come around very often up here, usually just in late September/early October and March. Every other time of the year it's either just right, too hot or too cold.

But ####, does that little thing get my 48" bunk toasty. I set it on the lowest setting and I usually don't need blankets.

i use mine quite a bit even durring the summer months ill run a lot of places it gets down into the 50's at night ill turn it on in the for a few mins before i get out of bed. there has been a couple nights recently i have turned it on before going to bed though. mine has the digital thermostat so it wont actually run much threw the night till it gets pretty chilly out.

Ive run one once where it was necessary to shut off to conserve fuel until a midnight to start the new day prior to fueling without being busted on the logs. It did a good job. I think it was 10 above that night. Took a little risk leaving that cat off a number of hours. But I hedged that the engine fluids and block might still hold a little warmth at midnight.

The kind I had actually burned some fuel. Oh the irony. So I made sure I was parked within say 60 feet from the pumps, I got lucky there. I wasnt sure if I had that fuel to burn. Dry sticking the tanks revealed one was essentially dry and the on the downslope had a inch or so...

One thought there has been some mountain snow already reported this week last. We are close to Oct 15 chain season, might as well get em cleaned and hung out there.

My bunk is at my house. I have two bunk heaters: My oil furnace, and my wife. Have fun out there! :)
