im in the process of buying a 06 Volvo 670 rebuilt everything motor rears tranny replaced wires hoses a lot. The motor look immaculate. Has a cummins isx 475 horses but does have an auto shift motor. I've heard a lot of bad things about Volvo since I started driving trucks 7 years ago. Never drove one personally. I just wanna know from people who own one with same motor any issues they've run across

I think Volvos are one of the best designed trucks for the driver, but their service network sucks big time.
The ISX can be a good motor, but you can't do extended oil changes, very important. See Rawze dot com. -
Unless it has a Volvo I-Shift Automated Transmission, (which it doesn't since those were introduced in MY 2008) I personally would stay away from it.
If you're going to be a Owner Op, stick with a 13 Speed manual transmission, your wallet will thank you later.
Since it doesn't have a Volvo Engine, you can get it serviced anywhere. -
A buddy of mine has the same tranny in a 06 pete 387 he hasn't had any major problems just nicks and nacks. It's either get this one or a 00 Volvo with a 60
Series Detroit with meritor ten speed -
I would get the 00
-
I vote for 00
-
You driven a meritor tranny before?
-
You familiar with that tranny?
-
No, I'm familiar with Eaton-fuller and have no issues with...
-
I have driven it, but not owned it. I have Eaton on mine. The tranny is not a big deal, you can put a new one in for $3500 if you ever need to. The 00 truck is just better, than 06
