Thanks Lovesthedrive' Dysarts was first to my mind when I started to read this thread...I have always stopped there, I am always telling people to stop if they are going up that far in Maine. I used to live in Caribou, back when I was in the service and stopped there to fill up my pickup, and get a cup of coffee. And sometimes eat. I always got free coffee there, the waittres aasked if I fueled and I said "Yes" and this was before I was a truck driver, so I lways stop... Good food and Nice floks, but thn I like it in Maine. Just no jobs and I didn't want to drive a truck back then.I just stopped last nite at a Sinclair in Center Point, Ia. and they had fast food, but man cleanst showers I have seen in a long time, plus lots of parking.

Your being selfish, but I understand. Got to be sure you keep your parking spots for your breaks open. How are we going to help support them if yo fail to share them so we can spend our cash with them???

Don't have a choice. The only fuel stops we are allowed is Pilot. They even keep the points. -
There's a nice little truck stop in Ohio at the intersection of US33 and US127. It only has room for about 20 trucks but the food is great at a decent price and the people are friendly.
I assume it's still there as I retired in 2003 and haven't been back that way since.
I used to run nightime reefer loads from Dayton, Oh to South Bend, In and would always stop there on the way back for breakfast. -
When I worked for Schneider on the Olney, IL Wal-Mart account we used to stop at lots of Mom and Pops on the two-lanes. Most didn't have a lot of truck parking, but you could usually find a spot. I don't remember where all of these are, its been so long.
Some were no bigger than a big gas station. The Bluebird Junction in Indiana was that way. They had a small cold deli (with pretty good sandwiches) but no showers. They didn't really have truck parking, just enough lot you could pull in and park to the side and come out the other way.
There is another little truckstop on US 50 in Bridgeport, IL (just west of Vincinnes, IN). Not much parking, but the bathrooms were pretty clean and the Indians who ran it were super nice. I think it did have a Sub Way right next to it, but not in the same building. -
I have stopped in there before. Good food. They even have rabbit on the menu. Another in Ohio is off of US 35 in Jackson. A&A truck stop. Big lot and good food.

There's one on US30 in Indiana. I believe it's in Grovertown. It was open when I went by there in July of 2007.
