And the ability to speak English or shift gears seems to be getting rare. Many a trucker have gone from several trucks to one and say life is better.
We have drivers come to our shop who have to have an interpreter on the phone to tell us what they are in need of. Very sad. We had drivers at the sand plant today who couldn't speak English and could not understand loadout telling them where to go.

I just started my llc a few months ago and got dot numbers. In my line of business for the big companies I do work for, they require 1 million dollar liability insurance. I went through progressive since it was like pulling teeth trying to get a quote from every other insurance agency. Lioterally like pulling teeth. My insurance cost me 7 thousand dollars for the year being since I'm a new company and new dot numbers. I was able to save a thousand by paying cash up front for the whole year. When the year is up and time for renewal, obviously ill switch insurance carriers because I'm not paying that again and I should be able to get lower rates by then
