Every application have an 'accident' section. Are you being honest and letting an potential employer know ," hey, I did hit a guard rail*insert explanation here*
This is what happened, this is what I learned from it, and these are my accomplishments since then"
Stuff happens. Most employers know this. But most are good at spotting B.S. when they see it though too.

I just put out there because alot of people tend/appear to think that going with a non DAC company is a guaranteed job when it's not. With the way people are now a days, if a company hires driver A, driver A gets in a wreak, the lawyers dig into driver background and find past bad driving stuff (not on MVR but.on DAC), then finds out the company didn't use DAC and didn't call past employers, they could go after the company also for not doing their best to find out about driver A.snowwy Thanks this.

yes, true. every application asks for 'accidents/tickets"
and many times they ask that on a separate piece of paper, you explain.
what i had done, was type up my explanation and simply inserted it in the application.
one, things are fresh in one's mind
two, the explanation will be consistent, all one has to do is print up a copy from his/her pc.
third, it cuts down on the time spent filling out an application, spelling errors, etc, etc.
many times also, many companies want a copy of ANY police reports, to back up your explanation. have a few copies of those as well. -
I can give a explanation but the cops didn't write a report or give me a citation the company reported it to my DAC because I had to get towed it's pretty much my words against their words -
What happened to being responsible for ones actions.
MachoCyclone Thanks this. -
The rig was towed. That's sufficient. You will endure a period of time of unhireability by anyone who uses the DAC system.MachoCyclone and TROOPER to TRUCKER Thank this.

yes maybe...but you will at the very least have it on the record, your rebuttal. you are entitled to say what you need to say, and DAC must accept it. this doesn't mean you will be free and clear of anything, but by not saying anything is just as bad.
you really have nothing to loose but a few minutes of your time, getting the form from DAC to then fill out and mail back to them.
otherwise, hey, why were you here, basically crying to us what happened to you due to your own fault?
if someone "offers you" some advice, either you take it like a man, or not, but you don't bite the hand that is trying to help you!!!
