There's a difference between ups parcel and ups freight they are separate companies

At the end of the day Unions will throw their employees under the bus to save a buck . Union bosses are like corporations its about profits not employees. But thanks for your dues

I've worked beside them, doing the same job for the same pay without the bs. Note not all unions are created equally, but most labor unions do not have the workers best interest in mind.

Yeah they should quit today lol. They can lease on with Landstar and immediately do much better in a semi open market. They could also just lease onto one of god knows how many companies that pay a %. A fixed rate per mile is a sure sign you're getting at least partially screwed. If you want that there's absolutely no reason not to be a company driver.

I worked union and liked it. It was strict,..but you were treated fair and accordingly. They didnt tolerate anything unsafe.

Also went back to work for the same company that I initially was working with through Local 77 except then as a none union employee,.. they paid what they called a none union fringe. Scale + an extra $7hr and 100% match up to 50% of your annual salary to your tax deferred IRA retirement in an effort to get rid of the union. Life was good.

Yes. Check out what the Union bosses make a year and then try to defend them. Sick.
The reason UPS pays 1.20 per mile is because they can find owners that will take it. Supply and demand, simple. Most O/Os are their own worst enemy.

adayrider, Opendeckin and spyder7723 Thank this.

I worked for a union company. Anybody remember Pacific Intermountain Express? I don't think I need to say what happened to us. We were not only thrown under the bus, they ran over us backed up,and then ran over us again. Not bitter about it, things happen. And I really hope it doesn't happen to the drivers at ups. most of the drivers I know, are good people.. I thought I had it made with p.i.e. But things don't always work out the way we plan.
