Well, I'm certainly impressed. How often do you hear anyone in government actually doing something RIGHT?
FWIW, back in the '60's Colorado was supposedly the first state to actually remove the tolls on a highway once it was paid for. I can't remember now which governor it was that did this. This was on The Denver-Boulder Turnpike. A much needed highway that the state could not find funding for, so they made it a toll road. -
they had the same "idea" with the mid-bay bridge down here.
it was supposed to be un-tolled after it was paid for.
but it never was. as a matter of fact it went UP 50 cents!! -
I suppose business and personal property taxes will go up to cover the difference. Politicians always rob Peter to pay Paul. Especially Democrats.
