    So I take it that there is no cause for concern?
    I was a little worried that the #s might have something to do with the flow, or something like that, which might lead to an overfueling problem.

    Thanks again for your help!

    Next step is losing the stock cat/ mufflers. Whenever I contacted my local parts house, they called KW to see if an exact fit replacement was available- KW informed them that the cat/ mufflers had to go back on; (EPA regs.)
    Replacement costs = $3200.00:biggrin_2555::biggrin_2551::biggrin_2555::biggrin_2551:

    Hold your breath, KW.

    This is the info cut out of CAT SIS, I would only use this on a new piston pack or at least a new liner. Cat liners are hardened and I have found honing only to cause oil consumption after. We had to hore or berry brush at the dealer under warranty but always had oil consumption complaints after.

    Truck Engine News SEBD6808, January 2008, "Improved Rings are Available for On-Highway Truck Engines with High Load Applications". Disregard this article. Refer to the article that follows.
    An improved top piston ring has been released for engines that are used in high load applications. The improved top piston ring is made from stronger materials. The stronger materials have a proven robustness in order to withstand fatigue due to high load applications. For only the high load applications that are listed below, replace the 237-0194 Top Piston Ring with the 247-6130 Top Piston Ring on the piston prior to assembly in order to provide increased life. High load applications include coal and logging applications. High load applications also include any application with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) that is equal to or greater than 63500 kg (140000 lb). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, RENR2306, "C-15, C-16 and C-18 On-highway Engines,", Disassembly and Assembly, SENR9693, "C15 On-highway Engine" or Disassembly and Assembly, RENR9403, "C15 On-highway Engines".

    To add to that the new ring is a full keystone and very hard. The stock ring is easy to get off, the new ring was alot harder ring and even with my cat ring tool was alot hader to spread.

    The 2wS I am building will be using new packs. We only haul up to 80K so the heavy haul ring maybe overkill. :)

    I used it due to my customer is always over 140 000 but if you increase your hp over 700hp the cylinder pressure rise will be hard on the upper ring. The ring may still be a good idea.

    What im hoping for is the compression will play to my advantage.

    Have you been able to crack the BXS, MXS, and NXS acert ecms? Just curious.

    Hey guys ,really appreciate the info. but bottom line w/ this new ecm: 6NZ or 7CZ program? I will be doing a manifold swap at the same time. but turbo will have to wait a while. which trim codes 5232 or 6999? And DDS if this guy that has the new ecm actually cant flash it like he claims can i pay you to do this? Again thanks. oh, will be adding boost/fuel temp harness as well.

    6999 is worth 20hp over the 5232 supposedly.

    Yes I can change any ecm, mxs nxs works very well with 625 file. I dropped a Pete from 20 to 18 in the 1/4 mile, fuel mileage stayed at 7.5 for that guy. I can flash old ecms and used ecms to what ever you want. I have found that bxs ecm can not go back to 6nz, the file will not load, not a password problem. The ecm has software conflict. I am installing a new ecm on a bxs this week, he can only get 3.9 us mpg and I have tried everthing to improve it. I will install 475 6nz on this bxs and see what mileage I get. On a 475hp 6nz, 5232 gets 40 hp and 6999 get another 12 hp on the dyno. This all depends on the injectors and the codes the injectors have. This may be higher on 550 or 600 file, have not tested on the dyno.

    w900b you can pm me with email for more info If you wish.

    w900b Thanks this.
