Okay, I forgot to hit the unsubscribe though I did fully intend to...... the girls comment wasn't meant to be a slam. It's something I, and several others I know here, throw out as more a cameraderie type thing.....not a slam. I should've considered that I don't know you guys and vice versa well enough to throw it out at there, but I didn't consider it at the time. Hope this clears it up a bit.

Yes, in fact, there is. Go to TTR's Main Forum page, scroll till you find the Politics section, dive in, and have a good fight. There's plenty of rantings going on there from what I hear. -
No problems whatsoever... the "girls" comment I figured was tongue in cheek, and said with a grin...
I was joking about the political thread... I know it's there but a point was made on here or somewhere about not changing most people's minds... and this is true.. though it is not my intent to do that as much as just get others to look at other ideas... and again... I agree... this was not the right place for all that.
Back to Schneider... I would be curious to hear from anyone who's driven in their tanker division... thanks. -
Well, I haven't driven for the Tanker Div, but I have talked to several of their drivers. The bar none, best way to do that would be stop in an O.C. somewhere say, Charlotte or West Memphis and hunt one down. Those guys are happy. I would say stop in New Orleans as it's a big tanker/bulk O.C., but from what I hear the people there aren't very friendly even to other SNI drivers. All that said though, I haven't heard a single complaint from anyone about working for that division. -
I doubt if I will get that far east... assuming I pass the road test in 2 weeks or so, the farthest east I will get will be Texas...
I have been offered the chance to run a dedicated reefer run for a small company running from Phx. AZ to CA, CO, TX and NM.... usually just going AZ to CO to TX and back to AZ. usually I was told. Out 4 days and home 3 days... $900/wk.
I consider myself lucky as hell. Passing the road test will be tricky as I haven't driven in 4 years... but am going back to my school here for 40 hours on the road training to get reacquainted with everything. Backing and shifting are what I know I will need to practice. When I drove, it was an automatic FreightShaker.
I would like to hook up with Schneider as I heard they have a great tanker division, pays well, lots of work and great training... eventually get on local somewhere in the SE running tankers is my goal in about a year or two. Might be hard to leave this job if I get it though...lol And no, I am not saying who the company is unless I don't pass the test... too many guys looking for work. LOL...
You run OTR with Schneider? Out of where? Thanks for the input also. Take care and be safe. -
I have not heard anything from or about Schneider in about 2 weeks. Been out of town at my son's. In the month before I went, I talked to Schneider a few times. Was offered to be trained for the tanker division, which I would have liked, but they wanted me to cut my moustashe off. To which I said no. Cutting my hair and my beard wouldn't be a problem. I worked at a Nuclear plant where we had to wear face masks and a moustashe was not a problem. So I lost out. They did tell me that the tank drivers have great routes, and drive the best trucks. That's all I have heard. And I will say that I would not have ever been allowed to make a decision like that if it were not for the Veterans of this country that has kept this country free. Happy Veterans Day! God Bless America!
MilkMan Thanks this. -
If you have H-mat and Tanker Endorsements or will be getting them soon, AND if you really want a decent gig in the SouthEast..... call CTL in Mobile, AL. They seem to have a decent program and are/were hiring for the SE and Local area.
I'm leased on to SNI's Choice Program for O/O's. I live in L.A.(Lower Alabama), but the Op Center I'm assigned to is Charlotte, N.C. -
You're quite welcome. Thank you for remembering.

Good comment for the right day... my thanks go out to all vets as well.
RE: Schneider... It is my understanding they have suspended all hiring of new drivers and shut down all training facilities until further notice. I believe, like Knight, they are now requiring a min, 3 mos. or 6 mos. to be considered for hire. -
Thanks for the lead...they would be ideal it seems. I looked them up. They are hiring but they require 6 months current and I have not driven in 4 years. That's why I am jumping at this job offer and will take it for the next year, give or take, and then take the exp. and use it to make a move to where I want to be. I saved their information and will contact them tomorrow just to make sure the info I read was correct and learn more about them. I appreciate the information. Thanks again.MilkMan Thanks this.
