I'm thinking of getting my CDL for OTR and have a question regarding the DOT physical. I have slightly high blood pressure, controlled by taking a low dose of Ziac (Bisoprolol/HCTZ). With meds my BP is about 132/80, average.
My question is, are there any restrictions on the meds that would disqualify me? The BP readings are fine, I just am wondering about the particular medication that I take.

If you need medication to keep your blood pressure below 140/90 your physical must be taken every year .
Keep an eye on the vendor your pharmacist uses . Last year when I got a prescription renewed at Walgreens the pills were a different color . I noticed the vendor had changed and when I looked the new vendor up on the web I found they were a company in India that had just been approved by the FDA . I switched to getting my prescriptions at Kroger . Kroger has the $4 prescriptions like WalMart . -
was in a chicken coup the other day and a farmer or someone like that was in there getting his athority or somthing or another really wasnt paying a lot of attention to him but he had something wrong with him and his doctor flunked him on his medcard (i think it was high blood pressure) but anyways the dot guy told him to go to his optometrist or chiropractor there all valid places to get your medcard its even printed on there

Thanks guys. I guess I just need to schedule a DOT medical test and see what happens.
