Power Loss?

thank you meho1969, and I would find someone else but I had another independent mech. tell me the same thing I know volvo mech just go by the book but at this point I am out of options and really don't know what else to do. And I feel it doesn't have power mostly pulling up the hill but even on flat ground it feels lower but yea mostly when you press the gas pedal down you don't get that power on "kick down"

 

ohh men, it seems that this is something really common i'm going to the same thing, i got this code MID 128 PPID 124 FMI 4
this is related to the epg1.
no power-
bad mpg...4.4 loaded at 48,000-
no engine brake-
black smoke-
check engine light-
how mush$$$ for this repair?

 

Since you have the check engine light and the codes I would guess its the actuator valve/celenoid for the epg/ exhaust brake but it may well be both but I would start with that since that's cheaper a little

the egr valve is sticking

It's about $1,000 to replace valve #1 and $1,200 for valve #2. Around $1,700 of you do both at the same time
