Why would they do it? Simple. Someone lied to them and said that they would be an O/O. In reality, they have entered into indentured servitude.

I really didn't want to get in the details. To me gross doesn't mean anything. Net take home after fuel and percentage cut. In my opinion most get tricked with the gross. For example Independent oo grosses $6k, lets say he spend $1200, he nets $4800. A schneider oo grosses $8k, after company cut $5200 minus fuel, now he nets $4k. Like i said gross doesn't mean anything.

hey guys so lets get down to brass tacks. I hope I'm not hijacking this thread, but I want to know where I can gross 5k+ a week minimum. or...if you wanna talk net...where can i take home 2000 a week every week. I live on my truck, no home time, ever. Prime has been good to me...this week i will gross 5100...but when i do 3000 weeks i bring home lile 800 bucks. where and how to net 2k+ a week? i was thinking quality lease and roll under great wide authority with some brokers over there.

    freebirdnca and csmith1281 Thank this.

.. actually .. my "gross" numbers is the gross amount paid to truck after Prime's cut (28%) .. it does not include fuel expenses and other variable expenses .. if you run a truck and know what you spend in fuel per mile and you have run it under another company's authority then you are already familiar with your largest variable cost and fixed costs associated ..

.. it's not terribly hard math .. and as I mentioned before, I don't get into pissing contests about who's company or situation is better .. "weekly average" is a wide open paying field based on a whole lot of issues, not the least of which is "work ethic" (how hard you push yourself) or if you take a day off between loads ..

.. best of luck to any driver out there .. it's not an easy business .. I've been with family who drive either as an o/o or l/o or for a company my entire life .. and I have been in and out of it over the last 30 years in one form or another (from emergency equipment, box/straight, semis, etc.) and full-timing it for the past 2-1/2 .. it's a life ..
