I don't understand. Isn't it a self-dispatch program? Why do they dispatch you? I'm asking cuz I'm weighing my options for self-dispatch programs and Celadon is on the list. Curious how it works.
Avoid at all cost

Whenever they have sent/assigned your truck a preload, it doesn't allow you to assign yourself a load until they have unassigned that preload from your truck.
Every day I have to tell them to unassign the load they sent to my truck so I cab dispatch and assign my own load. It's really a hassle.
I have noticed they love to take their sweet time, especially in Tuesday when many loads hot the board, to unassign that preload from my truck.
This allows the planners to give the company drivers the best loads on the board first thing in the morning. It's a sad, deplorable move if you ask me.
What I do is plan my loads out a day it two in advance to keep them from tong up my truck with a low playing load.
The result? Well here are my last few paychecks, straight to my bank account, after truck payment and fuel.

In comparison, Schneider has about 5000-10000 loads to choose on there board every week, 95% drop and hook.slow.rider Thanks this. -

The loads that do pop up on the board last minute that pay good, chances are your not even near it to get it.
The loads that pay good, you usually have to watch the board 24/7 which gets tedious and boring.
Think about this for a second. 200 loads on the board for the entire United States. Roughly 150 of those loads pick up in 1 or 2 days. The remaining 50 loads pick up that day, and hopefully your near a few of those. Of those few you are near, there is no guarantee they even pay good, maybe $1-$1.30 mile. You see what I'm getting at?
My suggestion to you is, go to Schneider or Landstar. Celadon is killing the board off, it seems to me. It's getting harder and harder for me to take 1-3 days every week and still take home $2000+ every week.slow.rider Thanks this. -
2.25 cpm on 300 miles but you can't delv til next day and it's become near impossible to string a few together.slow.rider Thanks this. -
You have to do 3000+ miles a week to bearly make a company driver wage.
Running a lease truck at Schneider is no longer a good deal.slow.rider Thanks this.
