A company I worked for many years ago constantly reminded all the drivers to "Never admit fault" things are not always as they seem.

This statement alone makes me think you did it. I honestly believe you did. You even seem unsure about it for crying out loud. Next time you show someone "dust" try not to hit them. It makes life a whole lot easier for both parties involved.

Please don't try to be smart because I feel like this is a productive thread. When I said dust I meant if the speed limit was 70 I would have been going 70 therefore he would have never caught me. However the area I was going through was 60 and I was going under that.

So what your saying is,if I happen to hit something
With the front of my truck in a parking lot somewhere,
    I could not tell anyone.
Then just get on the highway and call the cops on
Some random truck and claim to hey hit me,
And the cop will write them a ticket and blame the damage on them with nothing more than me saying he did
It. I don't have to have any proof.

I'll have to remember to use that trick if I ever need to.

not4hire, Grubby, austinmike and 3 others Thank this.

I'm sorry you feel that way but that is the story. What do you think could possibly left out. I'm not one of those people that knows he's BSin but trying to get people on board. I have said it's possible bc I'm not perfect but it's just not adding up to me and with no video I'm not quick to jump on board with being at fault for an accident.

So you passed him on the right and then did a lane change to get in front of him? Maybe I missed it....

While I don't have 30 years in LEO, and I can't attest to every traffic law in South Carolina, if that's where the wreck occurred, I am familiar intimately with traffic law and criminal procedure. Anything I don't know, I will ask my wife who is an atty, she will forget more than you and I will ever know about the law.

@superhill56 according to South Carolina Code 56-7-15, the uniform traffic citation issued to you must occur in the presence of the officer, FIGHT IT.

And according to South Carolina statute 16-17-722(C) A person who violates subsection (A) by falsely reporting a misdemeanor is guilty of a misdemeanor and must be imprisoned not more than thirty days or fined not more than five hundred dollars, or both.
This could apply to the cop who swore it out, if it turns out you didn't hit the truck.[/QUOTE]

Um, sure, OK. Maybe you can get your wife to jump in here and give some real legal advice to the OP.
