I will admit though, that the chance of both articles lying via statistics is fairly high

 

I live in a California city that has a 10.25% sales tax. This is on top of high state income taxes. If I owned property I would be getting reamed on that, too.

The city I live in is also trying to rezone neighborhoods of suburban tract homes to allow up to six story apartment buildings to be built on land that is currently commercial property.

Being Commiefornia, I'm sure a certain percentage will be required to be low-income housing with all of its accompanying problems, destroying neighborhoods that are currently fairly safe to walk around at night.

The reason for this is the politicians want to force high-density and mass-transit on the population whether they want it or not in order to reduce Globull Warming. Absolutely criminal what has happened to this state.
