Ive bee applying to several trucking companies and the company I'm most interested in working for wants an accident report from my current employer, which is not a trucking company. I was not at fault in the accident, and it doesn't show up on my driving record or my DOT record (according to the recruiter). When I asked my employer, it didn't sound like they even filed a report and I'm kind of lost. How do I go about getting a report from my employer? Or do I need to get one from CHP?

Most megas have a website where you can log in and look at your safety score. Swift for instance has one for drivers on the company side and one for fleece operators.

I always get a copy of the police report from the reporting agency that took the report. Even if it's a door ding and a police report is made I want a copy of it for my records. Most reports are free and can be sent email I don't know about California though they probably want money for the report.

Nope. I don't want to lie about anything, I'm just not that type of person. The company I'm currently working for is just completely unorganized and no one wants to help. I went and got a copy of the police report and I'm planning on turning that in.

Yes, I mentioned it absentmindedly when the recruiter called me. Can't do anything about it now, but I wasn't at fault so I'm not worried about it.

What sort of driving record do they pull? I live in CA and got a copy of mine online and there isn't anything on it. Will companies go more in-depth than a DMV MVR/driving record?

No they won't do anything more than the DMV record , criminal background, maybe credit report type things. I've never heard of anyone wanting something that was not on the DMV. They don't care about anything except you being good to go for the insurance company and that you can drive and not get them wrapped up in problems.

    Lepton1 and NuckChorris Thank this.

Gotcha, thanks for the info. I just pulled the website driving record, would it be a good idea to request my "official" driving record. Or is there any difference between the two?
