Hell they all should have been built that way, but then again I'm just a truckdriver and don't know anything.

found it, thats awesome. i wanted to know your opinion from your experience and from DDS actually if the 7cz will be too much for my stock turbo. i am planning to change it eventually but can i run it for now w/ 7cz. thanks. id be totally thrilled w/ 600 or so if possible w/ 7cz, manifold and boost/fuel temp harnesses.

W900b it wont be to much unless you run hot FLS and FTS codes, a stock 600 program will run fine on that turbo. A friend of mine copied my ecm a while back on a 2WS 550hp motor and he could not keep the pyro under 1200*F in the mountains.... Im sure DDS knows better as he set up many of these programs on trucks but i think a stock 600 program will work good.

If you run the stock turbo i wouldnt mess with the manifold swap, wait till you get a bigger turbo.

Sorry for the late reply, been busy away from home. I have a few 6NZ runnning around with 7CZ file. Turbo boost was not an issue, 35 pounds with a actuator set at 18 psi. I do not like to see any more than 35 on a stock turbo. The trubo has very good spool up and the truck will trail a bit ever shift. That is with no boost sensor mod. I have installed a 7CZ turbo on 6nz and some guys complaint of a but of lag and lower boost until I flash to 600hp. The 7CZ is a 1/4 inch bigger hot wheel. Needs more volume to get it spinning.

Running non wastegated turbos are fine if you what higher boost above 1500 rpm. The reason Cat made the wastegate turbo on the 3406e was to get higher boost at 1200 rpm where the engine makes peak torque. unlike to 3406b that made torque at 1400. That s why most guys that install a non wastegated turbo complaint turbo lag. The problem with making a aggressive turbo that makes high boost at 1200 rpm is that as the rpms rize so does the turbo speed. If you plug your wastegate the turbo is overspeeding at 1800 rpm and results in early failure. The wastegate set properly will prevent the turbo from overspeeding. A wastegate is not a bad thing, it can help you make high boost across the rpm range. I will plug the wastegate for racing only, but not for road use.

Thanks DDS, so basically find you any 70 pin ecm and you can put whatever program you like into it?? Had a line on one and just waiting for a call back. Unless you know of any used ones around? thanks. And dont do the manifold until i have a bigger turbo like W900L says?? i was just thinking it might help w/ egt's a little but the advice is appreciated and good to know.
