I don't know if this will be allowed but the home page is Precision Motor Transport. I have researched this company for a while now, online, talking to drivers, talking to recruiting and such. One thing has been constant, everyone I have talked to likes working for the company. I haven't found one driver to tell me to not go to work for them. None of these people will make any money on me going to work there and they all tell me to make the move. I am leaving a very comfortable local job with 7 years under my belt and with 27 drivers under me in seniority out of 38 to go there. I leave Monday for Michigan to start my orientation then I go to South Carolina for training. They have terminals at the ports so the wait time to get your load is cut. You can go in, load your carrier, and be on your way. Check them out, I think you will like what you find also.

Yesterday when I got the mail there was a nice surprise in the hubbys pay check info....and once more I have to say what a great company my hubby works for.
Now they are starting one program where every pay day they will take and deposit into a drivers special "hometime account" a small amount, they are figuring the total for 1st year guys to be like 100.00 and for 2 yrs and up like 200.00 annually. This account is so that drivers can send flowers to family while they are out etc, just a little thank you is what it is supposed to be at no costs to the drivers AND as a special "late" drivers appreciation for this year they are going to fully fund the whole thing for all drivers as of Oct. 1st. They say they are doing this because they realize that much of the hardship of being away from home is on the family.
Plus, new home time days, for each year that a driver has worked (up to 5 years) they will get a bonus day....these days can be added to a home time as the driver wants. My hubby should get 2 of these bonus days starting in January 2007, he can let his dispatcher know he wants to use them and change a 2 day home time to a 3 day home time......pretty neat if ya ask me!
I have said it several times before and I will say it again, they really do care about their drivers AND their families.

That sounds like a great program. Like I have said before, I am looking forward to being a part of this company. How often is hubby home now?

my hubby is out 15 home 2 then out 16 home 2....I like the fact that they dont count the day you drive home against your home time, just this last friday he took the truck to williamston for reg maint.after droping his load here in MI so he has sat/sun off...and he was here at the house by 2pm on friday...so actually he ends up having two and a half days home.

OK that sounds pretty good. I'm hoping that I'm on the Northeast regional, where I'm out 6 and home 1. Hopefully since I live between Baltimore and Jersey City that I can catch a night during the week also.

I see pmtg at the local bmw/ford dealership every couple weeks or so. I can just imagine the sweaty palms when the driver had to back a GT40 onto the lot. Being a car nut I think I'd love to have that job. According to their website they get paid a % of load value I think? I could see doing pretty good since they have all those high end deliveries.
4mer trucker Thanks this. -
Its not load value, its a percentage of what the truck gets paid for hauling that load from everything I have read/heard....the farther you haul a car the more that car pays the truck.
