Just got a hub seal job done on my 630. The job is warrantied through the shop it was done at.
Kept the old bearings (conmet) and replaced the spindle cone. Shop installed all seals, reinstalled all bearings and set preload step by step according to manufacturer specs and followed all manufacturer torque specs.
Oil level is stable.
The oil is turning/has turned silver. This is after roughly 5kish miles and it's slowly been turning this fresh Lucas hub oil metallic.
My initial thoughts are the new cone working in, wanted to run it past you guys and get your thoughts?
Like I mentioned, oil level is stable. Hub temp is normal. No actual metal shavings in the oil, just like pigment quality mettalic look to the oil.
What do you guys think?

bearing don't "wear in" by shedding metal.
i have seen some assembly lubes that look like micro metal specs when they mix in with oil. i think its the moly in them that does it.

Why was the LMS cone replaced? Were the bearing cups replaced to match? The cone spacers are matched to the hub for proper bearing preload upon assembly. Are we certain that the spacer cone was the same as the old? I would only recommend replacing the Hub and cone as a set. Most commonly seen would be that the cups were not fully seated in the hub upon replacement. Especially on aluminum hubs can be a bugger to get them seated. The other is that a typical bearing back-off adjustment was performed. LMS hubs are always torque tight- no back-off. Either way a teardown and inspection is in order.

Wheel bearings do not wear in. Silver is a sign of metal in the oil and something breaking down. Take it in right away.

Yep thats certainly metal in the oil as others have said. I just did mine in a 91 FLA and the drivers side was silvery like you explained yours to be. Once I got it apart and cleaned the bearings, the "coating" was coming off of the bearings. It was almost like the chrome plating was coming off.
Now I know that bearings arent chrome plated, thats just the easiest way that I can explain what it was doing.Heavyd Thanks this. -
Yep, like a bad heat treatment or something and that outer layer of hardened steel just sheds off.
