I shoot for .50 a mile plus additional if it's inoperable or if it's out of the way

Ok thanks.. how do you approach asking for more $? Do you say if it's inop and the have .50 you ask for like .55 or if it's like $250 you ask somthing like $300? And just ask are you will to do it for so in so cause it's a inop?

You do it at a time and material rate, separate from the shipping rate. Inops can be more pain than their worth in revenue. You may have to drag them out of a field, or out of a barn. It will cost you a day just messing with it.

Grab my 1st load a hr north of me picking up the trailer @ kaufmen in NC. Had my magnet sign made for the truck ready to and didn't think about ford aluminum body so magnet won't work had Velcro it until I come up with somthing else. If that was my only worry I say it was a great day.. thanks for asking

Congrats driver, this how it should be done, no waiting and just go with your instincts, how much insurance ran for you? Also fight for those rates, it might sound like a good money at $300-500 a day but trust me, when you'll have a major repair/tow and down time and you will at some point you'll understand why drivers-o/o are pissed when new carriers especially dually drivers take loads for cheap. Again congrats and good luck.

Thanks I've been reading and talking to people so good practice a set my minimum on central to .51 for load so I won't be looking @ nothing less. Insurance 150k cargo 1mill liability= $807 a month. Hopefully next year I can pay in full and it will be like $7,600 entire year but you gotta make that up front one time pymt.

Where did you get your insurance from that cheap? Thats what I paid 10 years ago for my one ton truck. You don't wanna know what I pay now!
