I'm leaving the Army soon and was thinking about going back to driving since it is what my job is in the Army. Anyway, I've been doing some research because I've been put of the civilian driver seat for a while, and Schneider has been looking OK. I previously worked for SWIFT back in '04 and Werner in '03. Swift was OK back then, but Werner seemed to have an attitude, like I owed them something so I quit. If anybody could give me some feedback that would be great.

    Thanks.

Thank you so much for your service to the country and those of us who live here. We enjoy the freedoms that you uphold.

I don't know how the transition is from military driving to civilian driving. I really want you to take the time to find the right company for your needs.

Werner, Swift, JB Hunt, Schneider, Crete etc. They are not in your best interest. I would stay away from them. There is a forum on here called Motor Carrier Questions, the Inside Scoop. Take a look at the top of the page. There are carriers listed there. Stay away from them. Well, not all but about 99% of them.

You need to look for a company that pays well, pays for all of you time, provides good benefits and gets you home when YOU want to be there. Daily, weekends, weekly ect. Don't believe a lot from the recruiters. I am sure you have already experienced that nightmare.

Good luck to you and take your time.

I have to take issue with staying from SNI, especially for a fellow vet. SNI has a great benifit package, the medical is a bit expensinve, but the total package is very good. The pay is competative. SNI has some programs just for vets that will put about an extra $10,000 my first year.

I am new to trucking, i was a bit hesitant about joining SNI, but I have no regrets, except the slow trucks :)

Schneider isn't hiring students right now. They are currently only taking experienced drivers.

SNI has 3 medical plans. For single people the plans are 18$, 22$ and 33$ per week. The difference between them is the deductible.

Our trucks only go 60mph. :(
