So i'm looking to get into intermodal due the home time issue. Companies I have been approved to be hired by.
1.) H&M terminals used to be H&M International
2.) Road One
3.) DDI Transportation
Can anyone give me anything about these companies? I've been searching online but the opinions are all over the place. Thanks fellas.

I'm from the area. I can't say much about those companies. Me personally, when I read opinions online about different companies I take it with a grain of salt. Most guys ##### just to ##### and can make the best companies sound ####ty.
Best of luck to you -
Anyone have an opinion here? Really would like to make a decision by the end of the week.

Can't help you.,. just choose on pay and gut feeling, and report back.
Normally people only bother to post a review if they are angry, rarely do people who are happy post.
My odd recommendation? If you see a lot of older drivers working there, it's normally a decent gig. -
Yep, pretty much where I'm at for this point. Seeing a lot of ragged looking trucks at the one place has me thinking the money isn't there. Really at this point it's going to come down to whether they pay tolls, on a percentage or mileage rate, and accessorials that are included.

h &m seem to be the most reasonable company out of the bunch, ddi might be a close second... road one will take anyone with a cdl so they pay is not the best
-
Thanks I'm leaning towards h&m because they're terminal is close and will save me on parking. Pretty good access to 1-95 and jersey side. They have a run to va and back they need help with. I'll keep ya posted

I live in philly and I drive for Schneider intermodal.... I'd consider checking us out... New chassis... Home daily ... Weekends off ...but you're always available to work a six day and we average about 80k... Some make close to 100k but they help out other markets alot and with every weekend... With no lifeRookieJ1987 Thanks this.

Hey guys, figured I would touch base back since it has been a few months with H&M. Things started slow, but once the dispatcher Scott who is great by the way and I got rolling it has been good. Obviously you have wait times at the port and idiot shipper and receivers who waste your time, but otherwise I feel like I am making good money. I am working part time since I have varied days off due to being a fireman here in Philadelphia as well. So far I have averaged over $2 per mile for all miles. Some days are obviously better than others depending on how hard I want to run, but overhaul I feel they are a fair company to work for. A lot of the drivers here have been here for years so I take that as a positive.
x1Heavy Thanks this. -
What's your gross been on roughly how many miles?
